PIA Finalizes Arrangements for Evacuating Stranded Pakistanis in Ukraine

According to the national flag carrier’s spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez, the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has planned a flying operation to safely evacuate Pakistanis stranded in Ukraine owing to the current crisis.

He added in a news release that preparations for two flights from Pakistan to Poland on Sunday had been finished. He stressed, however, that the departure of flights was contingent on the arrival of Pakistani people in Poland.

The flights are likely to arrive in Warsaw (Poland’s capital), according to the spokesman, because the facilities at current airports along the Ukraine-Poland border, particularly in Lublin, are insufficient for the operation of a large aircraft.

He claimed that the Pakistani embassy in Ukraine was not only contacting all Pakistanis who wished to return home, but also giving them with all relevant information.

He stated that the PIA administration was in constant contact with the Foreign Office and Pakistani embassy personnel.
