Ayaz Afridi, the father of Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, expressed hope on Sunday that the Qalandars would win their first Pakistan Super League (PS) title today.
Ayaz Afridi told a private TV programme that his son’s captaincy and performance had been considerably better during the competition.
“Lahore Qalandars are expected to replicate their strong performance against Islamabad United in the last match,” he added.
Qalandars are the only side in the league to have failed to win the title since the league’s inception in 2016. In the lone final they participated in 2020, Qalandars were defeated by Karachi Kings.
Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars will face off in the final of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Sunday at Lahore’s Qaddafi Stadium (February 27).
