On the first of Ramazan, Prime Minister Imran Khan will launch Pakistan’s first national emergency number, 911.
According to reports, Prime Minister Imran Khan presided over a meeting on Wednesday to discuss measures linked to the Pakistan Emergency Helpline (PEHEL)-911.
The meeting informed PM Imran Khan that all 36 individual emergency lines for the provision of emergency services like as fire brigade, police, health assistance, disaster recovery, and motorway police will be consolidated into Pakistan Emergency Helpline (PEHEL)-911.
The prime minister was informed that the caller would only need to dial 911 and the call would be forwarded to the appropriate emergency response department.
During the meeting, the PM urged the authorities in charge to take all necessary steps to ensure the helpline’s smooth operation, including a trial run and soft launch before its official introduction in the holy month of Ramazan.
