Former cricket legends have applauded PM Imran Khan for defeating the opposition’s motion of no confidence in him in the National Assembly.
Vice-President of the National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri rejected the measure of no confidence in the prime minister on Sunday, saying it violated Article 5 of the constitution.
Shortly after the NA meeting began, Secretary of Information Fawad Chaudhry said that loyalty to the state is the basic duty of every citizen under Article 5.
He repeated the Prime Minister’s earlier claims that a foreign conspiracy was behind the movement to overthrow the government.
In response to what PTI executives have dubbed a surprise move, former bowling star Waseem hailed Akram Khan as “The Game Changer.”
Waqar Younis also took to twitter to pay tribute to Imran Khan. “Proud of you as always Skipper, what a feat,” he wrote, while praising the government’s decision to crush the censure motion. Former all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez also backed Prime Minister Imran after his surprise move.
