PM Shehbaz Likely to Meet Turkey’s Erdogan in Saudi Arabia

During his journey to Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Sources say that Erdogan, who arrived in the kingdom on Thursday, sent a message to the Pakistani prime minister for the meeting.

PM Shehbaz and his delegation also arrived in Saudi Arabia on Thursday for a three-day official visit at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Shahzain Bugti, Mohsin Dawar, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqi, Chaudhry Salik and four of PM Shehbaz Sharif’s associates are part of the Prime Minister’s delegation.

In a report, Foreign Ministry spokesman Asim Iftikhar said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are bound by a brotherly relationship characterized by mutual trust and understanding, close cooperation and an enduring tradition of mutual support. The guardian of the two holy mosques enjoys the highest reputation among the people of Pakistan.

The spokesman said the Prime Minister’s visit to Saudi Arabia would further strengthen the growing partnership between the two countries.
