Omar Cheema was being denotified as Punjab lead representative according to the early times of Tuesday Geo News reports, after President Arif Alvi’s dismissal to endorse Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s synopsis to eliminate Omar Cheema from his post.
On Monday, the circumstances arose after President Alvi dismissed PM Shehbaz’s recommendation to eliminate Governor Punjab Cheema from office. In a proclamation given by the President’s Secretariat, President Alvi had passed on to the head of the state that the Punjab lead representative can’t be taken out without his allowance.
Notwithstanding, rather than the president’s dismissal of the PM’s recommendation, the bureau division gave a warning in regards to the expulsion of Omar Cheema as legislative head of Punjab.
“As far as Article 101 and stipulation to Article 48 (1) of the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, read with sequential No. 2D of timetable V-B to the Rules of Business, 1973 and the Prime Minister’s recommendation (s) delivered on 17-04-2022 and 01-05-2022 for expulsion of Governor of Punjab, Mr Omer Sarfaraz Cheema stops to hold the workplace of the Governor Punjab, with quick impact,” the warning read.
As per the notice, hereafter, the speaker of the Punjab government will play out his obligations as acting legislative head of Punjab till the selection of the new lead representative.
