In terms of the penalties imposed by the US against Russia for capturing Ukraine, Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, has focused more on the requirement of the purchase of wheat from the country.
The government has also been directed by the prime minister to collaborate with China on a basis of government-to-government (G2G) to grant minimum prices on the imports of urea.
China also asked to purchase urea with the delayed payment at 4.35 percent every year, or around $2.175 per tonne every month.
In a recently generated meeting in the cabinet, the prime minister focused on the part that wheat imports from Russia must be on a G2G basis and that the quality and condition of the crop used in Pakistan should be of a high level.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hina Rabbani Khar, highlighted that the US and EU penalties were not applicable to the food products, and the discussion with Russian authorities on wheat imports was on a G2G basis. Â
