Swat Valley’s Bahrain-Kalam Road is Now Open for Traffic

Roads between Bahrain and Kalam has been restored by the district administration of Swat with an assistantship of Pakistan Army Corps of Engineers, Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) and National Highway Authority (NHA).

Many connecting roads and bridges were brutally damaged by the devastating flood between Bahrain to Kalam.

On special instructions of Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, Malakand Division Commissioner with assistance of District Administration Swat, Engineers 11 Corps, Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and NHA, the roads were restored and reopened for public traffic.

A promise was made by the Commissioner on his last visit in the flooded city to reconstruct it within 2 days and so he fulfilled it.

Shaukat Ali instructed the authorities and stated to reconstruct the connecting road between Bahrain to Kalam, and ordered to speed up the relief operation to Mittaltan, Gabral, Ariani and other areas. He also appreciated the efforts Pakistan Army, district administration, FWO, NHA and the people of the area.

It is pertinent to inform that NHA stated the road is opened for light traffic and confirmed to avoid the heavy traffic.

However, it is also advised to obey traffic rules to avoid unnecessary traffic jams.
