Careem, the pioneer of ride-hailing services in Pakistan, has recently announced a significant reduction in its commission fees charged to Captains in Karachi, making it the all-time lowest for the city. Careem will be operating on a 15% commission fee model on all car types in Karachi allowing Captains to take home a more significant proportion of their earnings.
The decision was taken as an effort to offer the Captains relief in their daily earnings, given the tough economic conditions of the country and the increase in fuel prices and overall cost of living. The development comes as another vital step forward in making Careem one of the most reliable, trusted and affordable ride-hailing platforms in the country.
Commenting on this initiative, Feroz Jaleel, Country Head, Careem Pakistan said, “Being a market leader and the only app which operates in 10 cities in Pakistan, we are bullish about our commitment and will continue to serving Captains and Customers with various initiatives. . We are investing in growing our operations and providing our customers with safer, more reliable and affordable mobility solutions.”
He further added “We are focussed on our purpose of simplifying and improving the lives of people in the country. We strongly believe in our Super App vision, and a successful ride-hailing business is fundamental to it.”
