The Sindh government has requested money from the World Bank to acquire 300 electric buses for Karachi.
The suggestion was made during a meeting in Karachi between a World Bank delegation led by practise manager for transportation Shomik Mehndiratta and Sindh Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit Sharjeel Memon.
In addition, it was agreed that a joint survey of Karachi’s Yellow Bus Rapid Transit line would be conducted by officials of the World Bank and the Sindh government.
According to the minister, the provincial government intends to run a bullet train in two phases, first connecting Karachi and Hyderabad and then connecting Hyderabad and Sukkur.
