Despite difficulties in the country’s external account, Pakistan took out $5.115 billion in foreign loans between July and November of the current fiscal year, a 14 percent increase over the same time in the previous year.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MEA) reported in its monthly report on Foreign Economic Assistance (FEA) that it received around $5.115 billion in foreign assistance in 5MFY23, compared to $4.499 billion in the same period last year.
Pakistan got $842 million in foreign inflows in November alone, up from $794 million in the same month previous year, a 6 percent increase.
As a result, overall inflows of $5.115 billion in 5MFY23 represented only 22.4 percent of the budgeted total of $22.817 billion for the year.
