Govt of Punjab to Build Three-Marla Houses for Low-Income Families

Punjab’s Finance Minister, Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht, declared on Thursday that the provincial government is building three-marla houses for low-income people on government-owned land identified by the Board of Revenue in semi-rural areas.

At the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, the minister presided over the 54th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Finance and Development, during which he announced that the Punjab government is enabling the homeless to purchase private homes on easy installments.

To construct these affordable houses, the provincial government worked with the New Pakistan Housing & Development Authority (NAPHDA), the Bank of Punjab (BoP), and other banks.

The meeting was attended by Mian Aslam Iqbal, Minister of Industries and Commerce; Dr. Salman Shah, Advisor to the Chief Minister for Economic Affairs; M. Jawad Rafique, Chief Secretary; Abdullah Sumbal, Chairman P&D Board; Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, Secretary Finance; and the secretaries of the other concerned departments.
