Competition Between India, Pakistan is Destroying Our Culture and Language: Javed Akhtar

At the 7th Faiz Festival in Lahore, renowned Indian poet, lyricist, and screenwriter Javed Akhtar was greeted with resounding acclaim.

The 78-year-old actor spoke extensively about language, including both English and the mother tongue, whether it be Hindi, Urdu, or a regional one, and the need to treat them all with the same respect. He also expressed his love for the great Pakistani poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz.

The esteemed poet thinks that language and culture have played a role in the rise of rivalry and hostility between the neighboring nations.

“Some so-called messiahs of language on our side say eliminate this specific word since it is not ours, whether it is for Urdu or any other language.
