Sarfraz Ahmed Becomes Worst Captain of PSL History as Quetta Gladiators out of Playoffs Stage in 4 Consecutive Seasons

According to the details, the captain of Quetta Gladiators could not take his team to the playoffs stage in 4 consecutive seasons. After losing the match played in Rawalpindi on Saturday, Quetta Gladiators suffered their seventh defeat in PSL 8 .

With this defeat, Sarfaraz Ahmed became the only captain in the 8-year history of the PSL who failed to lead his team to the playoffs for the fourth year in a row. It should be noted that the teams of Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators were facing each other in their last group match in Rawalpindi. Chasing the target of 263 runs, the Quetta Gladiators team managed to score 253 runs, thus they faced defeat by 9 runs.

With this defeat, Quetta Gladiators are out of the race for the play-off stage, this is the fourth year in a row that Quetta Gladiators have failed to reach the play-off stage. After the result of this match, Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi reached the play-off stage. On behalf of Multan Sultan, Abbas Afridi scored a hat-trick to bring his team to victory in a thrilling match, while Umeer Bin Yousaf scored 67 runs on behalf of Quetta Gladiators .

Earlier, Multan Sultans broke big records by batting first at the invitation of Quetta . Multan Sultans ‘ Usman Khan’s fastest century, Muhammad Rizwan’s half-century and Tim David’s smoky 43-run innings gave Quetta Gladiators the biggest target in the 8-year history of PSL .

Multan Sultans set Quetta Gladiators a target of 263 runs to win, the previous record for the biggest innings was held by Islamabad United who scored 247 runs against Peshawar Zalmi in 2021.

Speaking on the occasion of the toss, the captain of Quetta Gladiators Muhammad Nawaz said that four changes have been made in today’s match. He also said that the match is important and will try to win and go to the next stage. He said that 240 runs are being scored on the pitch, but we will play according to our strength. Multan Sultans captain Muhammad Rizwan said that no matter what the pitch is, if you play with planning, you will win.
