A truck carrying hot meals, water, fruits, laban, and dates travels to DIP, Sajja, Tecom, and Al Quoz to provide iftar to the locals there. It is a component of a programme launched by a family in Dubai to feed those who cannot cook or cannot afford healthy food.
It takes a lot of work to cook such a large amount of meals. The procurement of the meat, rice, and other ingredients for the iftar feast starts early in the morning.
In various kitchens in Dubai and Ajman, chefs start preparing meals around seven in the morning using the purchased supplies. Before being distributed in more than 16,000 aluminium food packages, 7,500 kg of mutton or chicken pulao must be made.
Each day includes the delivery of 16,000 water bottles, laban, 4,000 kg of fruits, and 200 kg of dates in addition to the main meal.
Happyhappyuae Drive, which offered extravagant Iftar, was founded by the Malawian brothers Imran and Mohammed Karim and their family. With Model Service Society, a non-profit with offices in the UAE, they collaborated on the iftar project.
Imran Karim said that Ramadan is a time when individuals from all over the UAE come together to serve and give back to the community and stated, “By the conclusion of this Ramadan, we are hoping to distribute over half a million meals.”
