Elon Musk the renowned entrepreneur and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has founded a new artificial intelligence (AI) company called X.AI Corp. The company, incorporated in Nevada last month, is led by Musk as the sole director, with Jared Birchall, director of Musk’s family offices, serving as the secretary.
Musk has a history of involvement in AI projects, having co-founded OpenAI in the past. However, in recent times, he has been vocal about his concerns regarding the potential bias and lack of truth-seeking in AI models like ChatGPT. This has led him to take the initiative to create his own AI company, X.AI Corp, with the goal of developing AI models that prioritize truthfulness and fairness.
Although details about X.AI Corp are currently limited, there are signs of progress. Musk has reportedly hired top researchers, including scientist Igor Babuschkin from DeepMind, a renowned AI research lab. Additionally, Musk has purchased 10,000 GPUs for AI development at a Twitter data center, and is in discussions with investors from his other ventures, Tesla and SpaceX, to secure funding for X.AI Corp.
The founding of X.AI Corp by Musk has generated significant attention in the tech and AI communities, with many eagerly anticipating further updates and developments. As Musk’s new venture progresses, it has the potential to impact the field of AI and influence the applications of AI technology in various industries.
