Kuwait is one of the largest oil-producing nations in the world, and the country’s oil output continues to be a significant contributor to its economy. Recently, data was released indicating just how much oil Kuwait produces in a single second – and the number is truly staggering.
According to the latest figures from the Kuwait Oil Company, the country produces approximately 1.6 million barrels of oil per day. This equates to an astonishing 18.5 barrels of oil per second.
To put this in perspective, this means that Kuwait produces enough oil in just two seconds to fill up the average family car’s fuel tank. Furthermore, at this rate, Kuwait could produce enough oil to power the entire country of Malta for an entire year in just under 48 hours.
The oil industry is a major source of income for Kuwait, with oil accounting for approximately 90% of the country’s export revenue. The country has consistently been one of the top oil producers in the world and has benefited greatly from the global demand for crude oil.
However, Kuwait is not solely reliant on its oil reserves, and the country is currently working towards diversifying its economy. As part of this effort, Kuwait is investing in renewable energy sources, such as solar power, with a target of generating 15% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030.
