According to the officials, in US southern state of Texas, Yasir Bashir, the first Pakistani-American commander has recently been appointed as an Assistant Chief of the Houston Police in United States.
Troy Finner, the Houston Police chief has appointed a Pakistani-origin Commander named Yasir Bashir, as the Head of the department of family violence. However, Bashir will be the first Muslim assistant chief of the police in the USA.
In Washington, the Pakistani Embassy has also welcomed this appointment. The State of US, Texas is a home to a large Pakistani community and there is a city of Houston that is a destination for most of the Pakistani immigrants there.
