Haroon Rasheed and Chris Rasheed, the founders of Bee Happy Raw Honey, have a strong passion for beekeeping and promoting raw honey.
They annually gift all of their honey to friends, neighbors, and first responders. In 2022, they teamed up with Pakistani businessman Umer Ali Malik to establish the Serena Bee Museum in Neelishang, a mountain resort in the KPK region of Pakistan.
Umer Ali Malik offered a piece of land for the museum, where he is developing a resort-style estate development project. The Bee Museum aims to educate people in Pakistan about the benefits of planting fruit trees and bee-friendly plants.
The first prototype of the museum has been delivered in Lahore, and the ground-breaking ceremony is expected to be held by the end of 2023.
Haroon and Chris have been involved with urban gardening for many years, helping their neighbors to landscape and garden with the environment and future in mind.
They realized the crucial role honeybees play in the ecosystem and the devastation their predicted demise would have on the planet. Lahore, the city of Haroon’s birth, has been severely affected by climate change, including devastating floods and unprecedented temperature rises.
With over 13 million inhabitants, Lahore is among the top five most polluted cities in the world, with air pollution causing more than 128,000 deaths annually and a drop of over four and a half years in the average life expectancy.
Haroon is also planning to establish a Bee Museum and Bee Sanctuary in the Solano/Sonoma county area in California, USA. This would provide a place to educate people about bees, the importance of their existence, and provide training to new beekeepers. It aims to engage a new generation in the significance and joys of beekeeping.
