In February 2021, Pakistan outperformed India in terms of apparel exports to the United States.
According to Sourcing Journal, a reliable source for textile sector details, Pakistan had an outstanding performance among apparel export destinations globally in February.
“During Covid-19, we were the only major exporter with increased apparel supply to America,” said Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood.
Normally, India and Bangladesh outperform Pakistan, but considering all of Covid-19’s problems around the globe, Pakistan has outperformed its neighbors this time.
While the value of apparel imports into the United States, a major destination for textile exports, fell 8.7% year on year to $5.39 billion in February 2021, the amount increased 3.2 percent, with Pakistan topping the list of countries that saw an increase in apparel exports.
