Dr. Jamal Nasir, the provincial minister for primary and secondary health in Punjab, stated that World Thalassemia Day is observed on May 8 to increase awareness of Thalassemia globally.
The government would offer patients with thalassemia full medical services. He stated that all thalassemia child screenings and tests will be performed gratis the following week, and that vaccination would guarantee complete recovery for all unwell children. He advocated for charitable organisations to do more to aid children with thalassemia.
“Thalassemia is a fatal and a genetic disease and the patient not only himself but his family members also pass through painful phases during this disease.” said Dr. Jamal Nasir.
