More than one lakh workers will take part in the sit-in, according to President Pakistan Democratic Movement spokesperson Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Plans have been finalized to bring a convoy of thousands of workers from all provinces to Islamabad.
The convoys from all over Punjab will travel to Islamabad under the direction of Dr. Atiqur Rehman, while those from Baluchistan will be led by Maulana Abdul Wasi and Abdul Ghafoor Haidari. Rashid Mehmood Soromuki will lead the convoy from Sindh to Islamabad, while Akram Khan Durrani will lead the convoy from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s southern districts. Maulana Atta-ul-Rehman will drive the convoy leaving from Peshawar.
Workers from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s southern districts will arrive on Monday to take part in the sit-in, according to the current statement, and convoys of JUI employees will depart from Karachi tomorrow.
It should be noted that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has declared its intention to protest the Supreme Court’s decision to grant Imran Khan his release.
In order to discuss the situation that has arisen since Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan was released from custody, a meeting was presided over by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of the Pakistan Democratic Movement and Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F). Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif suggested during the meeting that a large protest be held outside the Supreme Court on Monday in order to show public power.
