First surpassing Germany and now Japan, China is now the World’s largest vehicle exporter, escalating 58.3% year-on-year in just the first quarter of 2023. China’s General Administration of Customs has recently revealed that the country has exported around 1.07 million vehicles with their export value lasting at 7.67 trillion yuan from January to April 2023.
Further figures revealed that almost 231,000 cars were exported from Waigaoqiao Port, Shanghai, to Southeast Asia, Europe, Africa, and America. Moreover, the total exports include the majority shipping of new-energy cars reaching 100 000 NEVs.
Comparing the statistics of April alone, China has exported 2.7 times more vehicles than April 2022 accounting for 376,000 vehicles. As per the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the country has also increased the production volume of 2.13 million vehicles.
The deputy general engineer of CAAM, Xu Haidong, stated that vehicles made in China are made from stern quality control, state-of-the-art maintenance systems, and worldly-wise industrial chain, producing competition in the global market.
