According to sources, Karachi has been ranked 115 in the latest global crime index, up 12 points from the previous year due to a better law and order situation in the metropolis.
Caracas (Venezuela) topped the list, followed by Kabul (Afghanistan) at 14, Dhaka (Bangladesh) at 43, Houston (United States) at 52, Delhi (India) at 82, Washington DC (US) at 88, and Bangalore (India) at 108.
According to the website, the ‘Crime Index’, is “an estimation of aggregate level of crime in a given city or country.”
“We consider crime levels below 20 to be very low, crime levels between 20 and 40 to be low, crime levels between 40 and 60 to be moderate, crime levels between 60 and 80 to be normal, and crime levels above 80 to be very high,” it states.
