According to the report by Petroleum Commission, Pakistan is annually bearing a loss of Rs.240 billion just because of the smuggling of Petroleum product; however, this data was made public after the approval of federal cabinet.
The Commission in 2020 identified that 486 filling stations all across the country and the seized 27,911,746 litres of the smuggled petrol as well 997,037,434 litres of smuggled diesel was only 20% of total smuggled products.
However, about four times more of this smuggled fuel has made now its way to Pakistan with a tax evasion. Moreover, the overall smuggling of it has caused the national exchequer a huge loss of around 240 billion rupees in Pakistan.
