SpaceX has introduced a new feature for its Starlink internet service called Starlink Mobility, which enables customers to stay connected even while in motion. This service utilizes a receiver with a wide field of view and improved GPS technology to connect to SpaceX’s network of over 4,000 satellites in low-Earth orbit.
According to Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, Starlink Mobility works “almost everywhere on Earth,” including remote areas such as the middle of oceans and deserts. The first users to test this service are a fleet of school buses in Arizona, allowing students to stay connected and complete their homework while traveling to and from school.
SpaceX stated that Starlink Mobility is particularly beneficial for mobile businesses and public sector applications such as trucking, buses, shuttles, and emergency response. This service provides a reliable internet connection for people on the move, ensuring connectivity in various locations and situations.
