Edhi Foundation Holds the Record of World’s Largest Volunteer Ambulance Service

The Edhi Foundation, based in Karachi, Pakistan, proudly operates the world’s largest volunteer ambulance service. Since 1997, it has held this record in Pakistan.

The foundation’s main office is located in Karachi, and it provides various services including a 24-hour emergency ambulance service. Additionally, they offer assistance to the homeless, free healthcare, drug rehabilitation, orphanage and adoption services, as well as local and international disaster relief.

In 2005, the foundation donated $100,000 to aid the relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina. It was originally started by the late Abdul Sattar Edhi as a single room shelter, and it has now expanded to over 300 centers across Pakistan.
