Now Passports will also be Made in NADRA Offices.

NADRA has launched a new facility for the public, along with identity cards, passports will be made at 30 centers including Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. According to the report, citizens will have to pay an additional Rs 1,000 service charges.

On the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the National Database and Registration Authority has launched a new facility for the public, now NADRA will also make passports at 30 centers across the country including Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a formal notification. It has been said that the facility will be available at 12 centers in Lahore region, two in Karachi, six in Multan and two in Sargodha, four in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and two in Islamabad region.

According to the notification, there will now be a passport counter in nadra offices. The Prime Minister had directed that NADRA would make passports in tehsils or sub-tehsils where there is no passport office.

With the approval of the Prime Minister, passport desks in NADRA offices are likely to be set up at tehsil and taluka level by June 10.

Under the rules, a passport office or another office can be set up in each district for a population of more than one million, in the presence of the district office, the establishment of a passport desk in tehsil and taluka is a burden on the government treasury.
