The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a warning for people living in Karachi’s coastal area about a cyclone called Biparjoy that could affect the city.
The NDMA has advised fishermen to avoid going out to sea from Monday, 12 June until the cyclone passes over the Arabian Sea. The cyclone, classified as a Severe Cyclonic Storm (SCS), is predicted to move slowly in a north-northeast direction and could possibly shift northwest towards Pakistan’s Makran Coast.
The conditions that support the cyclone may also become stronger.
