Shahid Afridi Wants Pakistan to Boycott Asia Cup if Moves to Neutral Venue

Former captain of the Pakistan Cricket Team, Shahid Afridi, expressed his opinion on Thursday, stating that Pakistan should boycott the Asia Cup if it is not held in Pakistan. Afridi claimed that the Indian Cricket Board has significant financial resources, which they use to influence other cricket boards.

He also mentioned that Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan are providing weak excuses regarding Pakistan’s hybrid model. Afridi believes that professional cricketers should not be concerned about playing in hot weather conditions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Najam Sethi, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, proposed that four matches of the Asia Cup should be played in Pakistan, with the remaining games taking place in the UAE.

Afridi also emphasized that the appointment of the PCB Chairman should not involve politics, suggesting that the Prime Minister should not have a say in such matters.

Recent reports have suggested that Najam Sethi might be replaced as Chairman of the PCB, with former Chairman Zaka Ashraf potentially returning to the position.
