UAE Officially Announces Eid Al Adha Holidays

The UAE has announced the official Eid Al Adha holidays for public sector employees. The holidays will be from 9 to 12 Zul Hijjah, which corresponds to the Gregorian calendar dates.

The duration of the holiday will depend on the sighting of the Moon, which determines the start and end of Islamic months. Residents in the UAE can expect a five-day or six-day weekend, depending on the moon sighting.

Eid Al Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, will be celebrated from June 27 to July 2 according to the Gregorian calendar. The confirmed dates will be announced once the Zul Hijjah moon is sighted in June. This announcement follows the decision of the Council of Ministers regarding the holiday agenda for the year 2023 in both government and private sectors.
