Meet Dr. Sana Ramchand: First Hindu Girl to Clear CSS Exam

The results of the Central Superior Services (CSS) exams were announced on Thursday, and only 1.96 percent of the candidates who took the exam passed. Dr Sana Ramchand Gulwani, a Shikarpur student, was among them, the first Hindu girl to pass the exam in the 73 years since independence.

Dr. Sana Ramchand is the first female Hindu to be selected for the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), also known as the District Management Group (DMG). Dr. Sana was chosen for the Pakistan Administrative Service after passing the Central Superior Services (CSS) exams in 2020 and passing her interview. Dr. Sana is from the village of Chak in the Shikarpur district and worked as an RMO at SIUT Karachi after completing her MBBS.

Dr. Gulwani is the first Pakistani woman from the Hindu community to pass this exam since partition, according to many Hindu activists.

Sukhdev Hemnani, a human rights defender and activist, said, “This is an honor for us.”
