Nigerian Chef Makes History with 93-Hour Solo Cooking Session, Sets New Guinness World Record

Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, has achieved a Guinness World Record for cooking for the longest time as an individual. The popular Nigerian chef cooked continuously for nearly four days, which is a total of 100 hours. However, due to a small mistake during one of her breaks, her official record time is now 93 hours and 11 minutes.

During the cooking marathon, Baci prepared more than 100 pots of food, with each pot serving around 30 to 35 people. She followed strict rules, such as taking limited breaks and cooking multiple dishes at the same time without any help.

The event took place from May 11 to 15 and received a lot of attention. Millions of people watched the cooking marathon through an Instagram live stream, and the high number of viewers caused the Guinness website to become overwhelmed. Baci’s goal was to challenge herself and inspire young African women to pursue their dreams.
