Hajj Means to Leave Everything Behind to Spend Time with God, Japanese Pilgrims

Japanese Pilgrims shared their unique turning to Islam stories and their thoughts while performing Hajj 2023. The Saudi Center for Government Communication (CGC) recorded the emotions of Japanese pilgrims.

Almas Choji, a Japanese Muslim turned to Islam after knowing about the religion from a Muslim friend working with her. Choji also shared that her dowry was actually a trip to Makkah to perform Hajj. She expressed her emotions after seeing the Grand Mosque for the first time stating that it is more breathtaking than she imagined. Choji also stated that she discovered a sense of self-discovery and drew a parallel comparison between the tourist camps in Japan and tent city of Mina.

Saema Honda, another Japanese pilgrim expressed her joy of performing Hajj with different Muslims from around the world and forming friendships with them. She appreciated the services provided in Mina and shared her amazement after seeing the picturesque mountains.

Another Japanese pilgrim, Murama Tsuguku, while sharing her journey of converting to Islam stated an inexpressible feeling when she first heard Adhan. After listening to Adhan, Murama started discovering and delving into Islam.

The Hajj 2023, consisting of thousands of people around the world evoked a range of emptions and spiritual awakening during the sacred journey.
