Pakistan Allows National Hockey Team to Play in India

The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has given approval to the Pakistan hockey team to participate in the Asian Champions Trophy in India. They received this approval after getting clearance from relevant ministries and authorities.

The tournament will be held in Chennai from August 3 to August 12. Pakistan will start their campaign against Malaysia on August 3, and they will also compete against India, South Korea, Japan, and China. Pakistan has a good record in the Asian Champions Trophy, winning the title in 2012 and 2013.

In 2018, they shared the trophy with India.Currently, South Korea is the defending champion, having won the title in 2021 by defeating Japan in the final. Before the tournament, PHF President Brigadier (R) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar visited the team camp to wish them luck.

He also provided the players with daily allowances and rewarded the junior team, which came in second place in the Junior Asia Cup.
