CPEC Authority Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa recently said that the Gwadar Port and the Gwadar Free Zone after becoming operational fully would generate economic activities of about $10 billion annually; however, it would create thousands of the new jobs.
Asim Bajwa also said while talking to the media that after reviewing the Gwadar Port along with the other projects under the CPEC, “Soon after the completion of Gwadar Free Zone, many of the manufacturing as well as the trading activities will start, the cargoes will move, and the transshipment activities will increase.”
He further said that “we will continue to keenly monitor the development of the work in Gwadar till the time all projects becomes fully operational.”
He said that the infrastructural work of the port had been completed by the China Port Holding Company that costs around $300 million.
