In a remarkable accomplishment, the Pakistan Army has set a new world record by hoisting the largest national flag at the K2 Base Camp. Measuring an impressive 150 feet in length, this monumental flag-raising was carried out in honor of Pakistan’s 76 years of Independence, on 14th August 2023.
The gesture pays tribute to the brave martyrs of the Pakistan Army and all those who valiantly defended the nation, especially on the challenging Siachen front. The endeavor to set this record involved a collaborative effort by participants hailing from various regions of Pakistan, including Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
An international dimension was added to the feat, with the inclusion of Martha, a Spanish mountaineer, who joined the nine-member team. In the spirit of celebration, the foreign mountaineer extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of Pakistan on the occasion of Independence Day, contributing to the global significance of this remarkable achievement.
