Renowned Journalist Gharidah Farooqi to be Honored with Tamgha-i-Imtiaz Award

On Pakistan’s Independence Day, the President recognized 304 people, both from Pakistan and other countries, for their impressive achievements in different areas.

About 118 citizens are getting the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz award, including people from the defense ministry, scientists, artists, educators, and journalists. Some well-known names from the media industry are Amjad Aziz Malik, Gharidah Farooqui, Shama Junejo, Waqar Satti, Farooq Adil, Fahad Hussain, Saleem Bukhari, and Juggan Kazim.

The awards ceremony is planned for March 23, 2024, and it will honor important people like current and former chief ministers, those who work against terrorism, academics, scientists, poets, actors, and more.

Special guests from Saudi Arabia and China will also receive awards, and 18 officials who fought against terrorism, including those who sacrificed their lives, will be given bravery awards called Sitara-i-Shuja’at.

There are other categories of honors like Hilal-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Imtiaz, and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, which include accomplished people from journalism, arts, education, and other fields.
