PCB Grants Female Cricketers their First-Ever Domestic Contracts

A big step forward for women’s cricket in Pakistan: 74 female players have been given contracts for almost a year to play domestic matches. This is really important. Some of them have already played for Pakistan’s senior team, and others are younger players.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wants to make the players feel confident and happy as a new season starts on September 1. These contracts are a reward for doing well in different cricket events, like games for younger players and local tournaments.

The choices were made by the women’s selection group, led by Saleem Jaffar, with help from coaches.

The PCB also helped women practice at eight cricket schools, and they will get paid for playing matches and get some money if they do well. But next year, those with the long contracts won’t get the central contracts.
