Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah have made it to the list of the 10 most affordable cities in the world to call home. According to a study by “Workyard,” a global employment solutions company, these cities are shining examples of high income combined with a low cost of living.
Abu Dhabi secured the second spot on the list, right after Kuwait City. Residents in Abu Dhabi enjoy an average monthly income of about $7,154, while their living expenses amount to roughly $873.10. This means that after covering the basics like rent, utilities, and food, they still have a good chunk of their salary left as savings.
Dubai, a popular Emirate, landed in fourth place. The average monthly income here is about $7,118, and living expenses hover around $1,007 per month. Despite being a vibrant and bustling city, Dubai manages to strike a balance between income and expenditure.
Sharjah, another gem in the UAE, takes the fifth position. With an average monthly income of $5,229 and living costs of approximately $741.30, Sharjah offers its residents both financial stability and a relatively lower cost of living.
The experts who compiled this list considered data from 20 cities to determine the cities where people can earn a decent income while not having to spend too much on essentials like rent, utilities, and food. This financial balance allows residents to save a significant portion of their earnings.
At the very top of the list sits Kuwait City, having an average monthly income of $6,199 for its residents, while their cost of living amounts to $752.70. This combination of factors makes Kuwait City the most budget-friendly place to live globally.
In contrast, New York City, despite its high income opportunities, clinches the title of the most expensive city to live in. This is largely due to the sky-high cost of living in the city that never sleeps.
Here is the list in order:
- Kuwait City
- Abu Dhabi
- Riyadh
- Dubai
- Sharjah
- Melbourne
- Oslo
- London
- San Francisco
- Zurich
So, if you’re on the lookout for a city where you can earn well and still manage to save, these UAE cities should definitely be on your radar. With their combination of good incomes and reasonable living costs, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah are proving to be smart choices for those looking to stretch their dollars without compromising on quality of life.
