Pakistan’s World Cup 2023 Schedule Likely to be Changed Once Again

The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has asked the BCCI to change the schedule of two ICC World Cup 2023 matches due to security concerns from the local police. They are worried about providing enough security for the New Zealand-Netherlands match on October 9 and the Pakistan-Sri Lanka match on October 10.

Initially, the Pakistan-Sri Lanka match was planned for October 12, but it was moved to make room for Pakistan’s game with India on October 14. The police are concerned about security for both matches, especially the Pakistan game, which needs a lot of police presence.

It’s not clear yet if the BCCI will agree to the HCA’s request and change the schedule, even though tickets are going to be available soon. This situation makes the ICC World Cup 2023 more complicated.

The tournament has ten teams playing in ten different places from October 5 to November 19. The opening and final matches are going to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The tournament uses a round-robin format with 45 league matches. The top four teams will go to the semi-finals on November 15 and 16, with backup days planned just in case for the semi-finals and final matches.
