Dubai Airports Aims to Expand Workforce by Onboarding Fresh Graduates, Says Top Official

Exciting opportunities are expected to open for new graduates in the Dubai’s aviation industry, as the sector is observing remarkable expansion.

Dubai Airports have become the world’s busiest airport with 1,700 employees, and will be actively adapting its recruitment approach to prioritize the quality of its workforce, particularly among fresh graduates, as stated by the Meshari Al Bannai, the Executive Vice President of HR Development at Dubai Airports.

Al Bannai emphasized that rather than focusing on sheer numbers, Dubai Airports is keen on enhancing employee quality. He further revealed that the airport has achieved 34% Emiratisation and 16% of its workforce falls within the age of 20-35 years.

Al Bannai stated that valuing relevant experience produces better outcomes compared to an exclusive focus on numerical metrics. He emphasized that their goal to cultivate an experience-centric framework for young talent, graduate trainees, and interns will ensure favorable results.

At the executive level, Dubai Airports has exceeded Emiratisation targets, reaching 70% compared to an earlier aim of 50%.

Their 18-month graduate training program comprehensively equips young individuals with skills across various departments, ranging from HR to finance and support functions. This program is crafted to minimize attrition rates and foster long-term growth within Dubai Airports.
