Huawei has introduced its first-ever satellite phone called the Mate 60 Pro. This phone is designed to work with satellite connections, ensuring that people can stay connected even in remote areas.
Reportedly, the phone is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 9000S chip and supports 5G technology. This means it can achieve super-fast internet speeds, ranging from 500 to 800Mbps, which is in line with the standards set by 5G technology.
This launch follows a series of difficulties that Huawei has faced, including restrictions imposed by the US government. These restrictions affected Huawei’s ability to source certain components for their devices. However, despite these challenges, recent data suggests that Huawei is making a comeback. In 2023, the company’s shipments in China increased by 76.1%, capturing about 13% of the market share, similar to Xiaomi’s share.
Earlier this year, Huawei hinted at re-entering the Pakistani market. They have also been active in Pakistan by training ICT talents through various programs and partnering with local departments to digitize the economy and services.
