US Announces Undergraduate Exchange Program for Young Pakistani Students, Apply Now!

The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the US Department of State introduced the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program – Pakistan (Global UGRAD-Pakistan) in 2010. In United States, he International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) and in Pakistan, the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP are in charge of running the program.

The Global UGRAD program honors Pakistani undergraduate students who are enrolled in a Pakistani university. Through a non-degree program for a semester at a university in the United States, the Global UGRAD-Pakistan program offers cultural and academic exchange.

To be eligible for this program, applicants must be in their 14th or 15th year of formal school. Candidates must be enrolled in a four-year bachelor’s degree or a two-year bachelor’s program.

Tentative Announcement: September/ October

Duration: One semester – approximately half attend in fall and other half in spring

Grantees start studies: Fall next year

Eligibility Criteria

  • Pakistani citizens
  • 25 years or younger
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university and committed to returning to their home universities following the completion of the program.
  • In their 14th or 15th year of formal education
  • Applicants are required to submit current/most recent, and old transcripts with application

Ineligibility

  • Dual U.S./Pakistani nationals or U.S. permanent residents
  • Employees of the Fulbright organization, the U.S. Department of State, or USAID and their spouses, children, fiancés, siblings, dependents, and parents
  • Students in their first or final year of university

How to Apply

Every year by September/October, the Global UGRAD-Pakistan program is advertised. It is necessary to submit the application form online. Before submitting the online application, any supporting papers, such as photocopies of transcripts and an explanation of the grading system used by the university awarding the degree, must be attached. The most current transcript must be supplied online along with scan copies of all your university-attested transcripts. For more details click the link below
