58th Martyrdom Anniversary of Nishan-e-Haider Recipient Major Aziz Bhatti being Observed Today

Today, Pakistan solemnly observes the 58th anniversary of the heroic sacrifice made by Major Raja Aziz Bhatti, a valiant defender of the nation who laid down his life on September 12, 1965.

Born in Hong Kong in 1928, Major Bhatti relocated to Pakistan before its independence in 1947 and settled in the village of Ladian, Gujrat district. He dedicated himself to the newly-formed Pakistani Army and was commissioned in the Punjab Regiment in 1950.

On this occasion, the Pakistani Armed Forces, along with the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and the Services Chiefs, pay profound homage to Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed. He was posthumously bestowed with the highest military honor, the Nishan-e-Haider, for his exceptional valor during the 1965 War.
