Pakistan’s cricket captain, Babar Azam, has not confirmed whether fast bowlers Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf will be fit for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. These two players sustained minor injuries during a Pakistan Super Four match against India at the Asia Cup. As a result, they were unable to play in Pakistan’s match against Sri Lanka, which led to their elimination from the tournament.
During this match, relatively inexperienced players Zaman Khan and Shahnawaz Dahani filled in for Naseem and Rauf. If the injured pair does not recover in time for the World Cup, Khan and Dahani might be considered for the tournament.
Teams participating in the World Cup have until September 28 to submit their 15-player squads to the ICC. After this date, they can only make changes with permission from the event organizers.
