On a Saturday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a weather advisory, predicting the probability of rain in several cities across Sindh, including Karachi, in the near future.

The prior night saw light rain fall in various locations in Karachi, according to recent reports from the Met Office. Additionally, more rain is expected tonight in a number of different locations of the port city. From the evening of September 18 (Monday) until September 20 (Wednesday), Karachi is anticipated to have rain, according to the weather service.

Significant rainfall is predicted in several Punjabi cities through September 20 in addition to Sindh. Rainfall is also anticipated in cities like Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, and Bahawalpur. In the meantime, Muzaffarabad, Malakand, and Lower Dir are expected to see significant rains.

The weather advisory noted in an earlier press release that “moderate monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal are likely to penetrate in upper parts of the country from 15th (evening/night)” The Met Office predicts that a westerly wave will also arrive in the nation on September 16.

Warning: From September 17 to 19, moderate to heavy falls may cause localized water flows to increase in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Galliyat, Murree, and Rawalpindi/Islamabad.

Additionally, the weather service warns that the expected moderate to heavy rains during the period from September 16 to September 19 could potentially cause landslides in vulnerable regions of Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, and Abbottabad. It is anticipated that the current extremely hot and humid weather will break during this time.
