Indian Team Won Prize Money of Rs. 5.9 Crore for Winning Asia Cup

The Indian cricket team showcased a dominant performance in the Asia Cup 2023 final against Sri Lanka, securing a resounding 10-wicket victory. This remarkable win marked their most one-sided triumph in any One-Day International (ODI) match.

Led by captain Rohit Sharma, the Indian team claimed their eighth Asia Cup title and received a substantial prize of USD 150,000(5.9 crore).

Three noteworthy points from the Asia Cup 2023 final include Rohit Sharma’s milestone achievement of playing his 250th Asia Cup match, India’s top position in the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4s table, and their upcoming challenge in a three-match ODI series against Australia following the Asia Cup.

In recognition of outstanding performances during the Asia Cup 2023 final, several awards and prize money were presented. Ravindra Jadeja received a prize of USD 3,000 for his exceptional catch of Sri Lankan batter Pathum Nissanka, while Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj was named the Player of the Match and received a prize of USD 5,000 for his remarkable performance, finishing with figures of 6/21.

Kuldeep Yadav was recognized as the Player of the Series, earning a prize of USD 15,000. Sri Lanka, the runners-up, received a cash prize of USD 50,000, which they generously donated to the ground staff of the R Premadasa Stadium.

The Indian cricket team, the winners, was awarded a prize money of USD 150,000 in recognition of their outstanding performance. Additionally, the R Premadasa Stadium ground staff received a generous prize of USD 50,000 from the Asian Cricket Council as a token of appreciation for their hard work during the Asia Cup 2023.

India’s emphatic victory in the Asia Cup sends a strong message to other participating teams in the upcoming ODI World Cup as they prepare for their opening match against Australia on October 8.
