‘X(Twitter) Could Charge All Users Small Monthly Payment’, Elon Musk

Elon Musk, the owner of the online platform X, is considering the idea of charging all users a monthly fee to tackle the issue of bots on the platform. Musk has been making various changes to the platform since buying it for $44 billion last October.

These changes include laying off thousands of employees, introducing a paid premium option, reducing content moderation, and allowing previously banned accounts, including former US President Donald Trump, back on the platform.

Musk suggested that having users pay a small monthly fee to use the X platform could help deal with the bot problem. He explained that bots are cost-effective because they’re very cheap to run, costing just a tiny fraction of a penny.

However, by requiring users to pay even a small amount, it would significantly increase the overall cost of using bots, as they would need new payment methods for each bot.
