Mohammad Hafeez has announced his departure from the PCB Technical Committee after his proposal to include Sarfaraz Ahmed and Imad Wasim in the ODI World Cup squad was turned down.
Hafeez made this decision when his suggestion to add Sarfaraz Ahmed and Imad Wasim to the World Cup squad was rejected.
In his statement marking the end of his tenure with the PCB Technical Committee, Mohammad Hafeez expressed his gratitude and respect for PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf. He also conveyed his best wishes for the advancement of Pakistan cricket.
“I have decided to resign from the Pakistan cricket technical committee. I served as an honorary member. I would like to thank Zaka Ashraf sb for giving me this opportunity. I will always be available whenever Zaka Ashraf sb needs my honest suggestions for Pakistan cricket. My best wishes for Pakistan…” Hafeez wrote in a tweet.
Although Sarfaraz Ahmed and Imad Wasim are unlikely to be included in the World Cup squad despite Hafeez’s recommendation, reports suggest that Mohammad Haris and Zaman Khan are set to be named as reserves for the prestigious tournament. Additionally, Hassan Ali is expected to replace Naseem Shah, who suffered a severe shoulder injury, potentially ruling him out of the World Cup.
While significant changes may not be anticipated in Pakistan’s squad for the ODI World Cup 2023, fans are eagerly awaiting the official announcement.
